Was just out in my Rachio-powered yard for the first time in 6 weeks or so (been traveling a bunch - the rachio notifications are awesome when away)
I hereby propose a feature where the sprinkler system is able to detect when all the plants in a particular zone have been mowed down by deer, rabbits, etc, and will therefore disable the now pointless watering of said zone.
I will leave implementation details to your fine development team - no doubt this can be implemented quite easily in a few days. 
sigh will try again in the spring!
