If a Rachio 4 were announced, what are you hoping for?

Rachio isn’t going anywhere.

One would think so. Rachio has been around for a long time though. I remember wanting a controller when they released the very first one. You could buy it through Apple but it was really expensive. They aren’t going anywhere BUT I f they did…. That would suck. I have too much invested in other gear because of Rachio. Flow sensor…. Weather Station…. That Thrive crap. Anyways.

I’d like to see the following:

  1. allow multiple start times in a single program. Even better if each start time can have a different runtime.

  2. Select master valve use by zone and not just for entire system.

Weather and moisture sensors integration, 2-wire interface options. Since Rachio seems to be expanding its product offerings you should consider a weather sensor, an integrated valve manifold box with 2-wire interface.

2-Wire weather station, no, but they do have direct integration with the Tempest WeatherFlow system.

Not sure I follow this one. You want a preloaded valve box with multiple zones? With 2-wire hookup? If you have to run wires anyway, run multi-zone wire and hook up normally.

The start time needs to be based on the zones running not on the schedule. If just one zone is running then adjust the start time on that zone.

Well, the latest update from Apple has totally broke being able to run zones in HomeKit. I asked for a refund they told me the refund window has closed.

I don’t care what they come up with. I will never buy another one of the products after what I’ve been through with this controller, and now being told they were no longer refund it.

They gave a year for you to submit for a refund. I think they gave you a fair chance to return. Now an Apple update broke any remaining functionality and people are mad. Homekit is a nice feature I guess, but hardly the reason I’d base my decision on.

I had no idea there was a time limit on it, and as I had mine working perfectly until the latest ISO update there was no reason to return it.

But I guess due to them dropping HomeKit support it was no longer supported under ISO 17. The zones show up, but you can’t turn them on. Ironically, you can add it into HomeKit, and shows up you just can’t turn zones on.

The only reason I bought this controller was for HomeKit support and as they removed it they should honor the buyback program as once someone upgrades to iOS 17 it no longer works due to them removing HomeKit support.

On the off chance that someone somewhere is still following this discussions: I would like to see better support for users who are unable to use FLEX schedules. My water provider imposes strict day of the week restrictions and they are enforced. I wanted to use the before sunrise and at sunset options but I can only do it with one program. The calculations are simple arithmetic. The watering times per zone are stacked, why can’t the programs also be stacked?
