Flow meter distance and range suggestions

I really want to but the flow meter, but as per the discussions above, i feel that mine may not be in range.
Here are my install conditions:

  1. Underground install in irrigation box
  2. Controller in garage on other side of house
  3. One brick wall, 6 drywalls and a tree in path (basically entire house and front flowerbed)
  4. 80 ft controller to flow meter distance

Is there any way this can work
If I buy and range is insufficient, will my returns be accepted?
