I attached the generation 2 to my wall and tried connecting wires to the terminal. I installed the C, but none of the zone wires will lock into place. That is to say, the button will not go down and stay down. I tried searching the forum and did not find this problem described.
I’ve seen that problem in the past on other controllers. It usually boiled down to having enough insulation stripped from the wire. Another cause I have encountered is when the stripped wire has bends or kinks in it.
You should always start with straight, solid wire that is stripped at @3/8 of an inch for best results.
