Upgrading from Gen 1 to Gen 3 Transfer Question

Both are 8 zone units. Will the transfer settings option work? Also, does my old Rachio need to be plugged in and connected to wifi for the settings to transfer or do they come down from the cloud?

Finally, thanks to Rachio for the upgrade. My Gen 1 was failing (which they saw by looking at the logs) and offered up a Gen 3 replacement, free. Amazing customer service and product support.

@machnhed1, the transfer settings should work since they are both 8 zone units. I’m trying to remember how I did my Gen 2 to Gen 3 transfer - I think it came down from the cloud.
