I just received my Amazon purchase of an open box Rachio 8 Valve 2nd Generation but it is already activated. How can I get this serial deactivated?

contact support directly rather than on the community forum. They will get you fixed up.

As Linn said, Rachio support can get you fixed up. Just send a quick e-mail, with the serial number (starts with CR or VR) for the device in question, to support@rachio.com. Ask that your device be cleared from activation/account. Once completed, you should be all clear to connect your own account (not the same as your profile on here, btw) to your new Rachio Gen2!
