No connection Netgear Orbi Router with Gen 1

I have rachio gen1 and was not able to connect to orbi mesh network that give both 2.4 and 5 ghz. For hours and hours I tried the following methods with no help:

  • disable the 5ghz
  • adjust the orbi channels
  • Disable internet security
  • use AP Mode in orbi
  • get help from rachio support
  • get help from orbi team.

Both teams insisted to use my old Netgear router. But it finally gave up and died.

Finally I tried to reset the orbi to factory settings and connect rachio as soon it is done. Finally was successful.

I’ve had my Orbi for a number of years now, and never had an issue connecting my Rachio Gen 1’s or Gen 3’s to it. By resetting, do you mean just back to the factory SSID and whatnot?

Yes. Just to reset to factory settings.
I have been struggling with this since last summer and this was my last action before buying new device.
