Well community, after receiving a quote for $375 for a controller and installation, I decided to research product with a view towards DYI. I was so uninformed about these things, I thought controllers cost abt $50 and only a pro could installā¦ wrong!! Obviously I landed with Rachio 3 based on reviews and the promised ease of installation. So far, so good. Not since my wife promised to obey 
has a promise come to fruitionā¦Not one hitch or glitch during installation and < thirty minutes to set schedule, Iām extremely happy and I saved myself at least $175 installation cost. Iāll keep you posted.
