Does the Rachio 3 have a battery that needs to be periodically replaced? If so how do I get to it?
Thanks,
David

The Rachio 3 does have a coin cell battery that retains the time in case of a power outage and wifi disconnection. It shouldn’t need replacing for 5-10 years.
OK, thanks. I had our lawn guy install it and forgot to get a good look at the back of the unit before it was mounted to the wall. Is the battery replaced from the back cover of the unit by a removable panel? If not how do I replace it when the time comes?
No issues setting it up and programming it. It was actually quite easy, I just need to call my County Extension Office Monday when they open for business to find out about the soil type in my area.
No need to wait til Monday…follow this step by step guide and you should know right away

Wow, that USDA site really got into the finer details of analyzing the soil in your area. I’m gonna have to share that site. Thanks…
