As I just installed my IRO and setting up each of the zones, I have become curious about the specific definitions and impact of each of the settings for each of type, soil, shade, nozzle and slope. What is the impact of the choices? Aside from a better understanding of the logic behind these settings, I also want to make sure I’ve made the right choices. In some instances, I have planting beds with a mix of plantings and I certainly wouldn’t want to choose a setting that reduces irrigation for the benefit of a few and the detriment to other plant material.
