Better descriptions of vegetation

Please provide better descriptions within the app for the different kinds of vegetations and the crop coefficients. Currently, When clicking the info icon, there are only explanations are for warm season grass & cold season grass. There’s no explanation or examples for annuals, perennials, shrubs, etc…

Also please explain better exactly how this lever will impact watering frequency and duration.

There is also a discrepancy for trees. The coefficient is listed as 0.75, but when you click the INFOBOX the coefficient for trees is listed as 0.3 (but with no description). I would think that the difference between trees and cold season grass would not be that much since the coefficients are 0.75 and 0.8 respectively, but when you clicked trees it seems to water much deeper and less frequently. This makes sense, but it would be nice to have an explanation within the app.

@shapps47, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’ll review and add better documentation to the help tip.

We can add a support article for this. Great idea!

Looks like the help tip is redirecting to this support article. Will review the defaults and correct this. Good catch!

This is most likely due to the nozzle setting selected. The tree vegetation setting defaults to a 25" root zone depth, whereas the grass vegetation is 6" or 9" pending if you select cool season or warm season grass, respectfully. As such, the combination of nozzle output and root zone depth plays a big role in the duration and frequency of watering events.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you find/think of anything else we should add.

Best, Emil
